Curly Spider Plant 'Bonnie' (Chlorophytum comosum) is a distinctive live spider plant with attractive curling, arching foliage. Supplied in a 12cm pot at approximately 25cm tall including the pot, it makes a striking addition to planted vivariums and indoor plant displays.
Unlike the familiar straight-leaved spider plant, 'Bonnie' has a compact, curly appearance that provides natural cover and visual interest. It can be used in suitable planted reptile enclosures, including bioactive setups with appropriate lighting and drainage.
For tortoises and bearded dragons: Spider plants are commonly grown as living enrichment and may be nibbled as an occasional edible plant. Offer only plants known to be free from harmful pesticide residues and unsuitable fertiliser treatments; rinse and, where appropriate, repot into reptile-safe growing medium before enclosure use. They are not a replacement for a varied, species-appropriate diet. For bearded dragons, plant them away from the hottest, driest basking area; for tortoises, provide suitable light and avoid persistently wet soil.
Care: Provide bright indirect light, a free-draining growing medium and water when the top layer starts to dry. Avoid waterlogging and prolonged exposure to intense heat. Suitability depends on the enclosure's temperature, humidity and the animal's needs.
Plant supplied: One live 'Bonnie' spider plant in a 12cm pot, approximately 25cm tall. As a living product, shape and size may vary slightly.
