Current Opportunities

Level 3 Animal Care Specialist

Location: Colwick, Nottingham
Hours: Part-time or full-time considered
Weekend work: Essential
Pay: National Minimum Wage (age dependent), with pay review and uplift following successful completion of a 3-month probation period

We are currently recruiting for a hands-on, multi-role position at our Colwick, Nottingham site. This is not a shop-only role. The successful applicant will be expected to work confidently across animal care, warehouse operations, stock handling, order fulfilment, and customer service.

This role is ideal for someone who is practical, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy retail and operational environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high standards of care for reptiles and amphibians
• Support customers in-store, by phone, and online
• Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Receive, handle, move, and organise stock
• Assist with warehouse and general operational duties
• Support the day-to-day running of the shop and animal areas
• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and welfare throughout the site

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Animal Care (or equivalent)
• Confident, hands-on experience working with reptiles
• Previous experience in a fast-paced retail environment
• Confident and professional communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and online channels
• Willingness to work across both customer-facing and warehouse-focused duties
• A practical, proactive, and reliable approach to work

Desirable

• Experience with fish or aquatics
• Experience in stock control, fulfilment, or warehouse operations
• A genuine interest in specialist animal care and retail operations
