Sunny Stick Insect (Sungaya inexpectata) is a calm, easy-to-keep species ideal for beginners and educational setups. Known for their gentle nature and attractive colouring, they thrive in simple, well-ventilated enclosures.
Care: Keep at room temperature (20–24°C) with moderate humidity and plenty of climbing space. A mesh or ventilated enclosure with fresh branches works perfectly. Ensure regular misting to support healthy moulting.
Diet: These stick insects feed primarily on bramble (blackberry leaves), which is available year-round in most areas. They may also accept raspberry, hawthorn and other similar leaves.
Notes: Non-aggressive, easy to handle and suitable for beginners. Provide fresh food every few days and remove wilted leaves.
