Designed for reptile vivariums, terrariums and larger collections, the Microclimate Connect lets you monitor temperatures, adjust settings and receive important alarm notifications through the Microclimate Connected app for iOS and Android. The two channels provide a maximum combined output of 600W.

Smart reptile climate control

The main thermostat channel can operate in either dimming or pulse mode, allowing you to select the appropriate control method for your heat source. It can be configured for heating, cooling or fixed output, while the auxiliary on/off channel can automate compatible lighting, misters or foggers.

With no built-in display to accommodate, the compact control box can be discreetly installed using its integrated mounting points. Day-to-day monitoring and configuration are handled through the app or web dashboard.

Monitor your vivarium from your phone

The Microclimate Connected app displays real-time information including the current temperature, target set point and channel output status. Temperature graphs provide access to up to one year of historical data, helping you identify changes and review conditions over time.

You can add multiple Microclimate Connect and EVO Connected thermostats to the same account, making the system suitable for keepers with several vivariums as well as reptile rooms, shops, colleges and other larger collections. Access can also be shared with family members, colleagues or other carers using different permission levels.

Natural daily and seasonal temperature cycles

Rather than limiting your enclosure to one temperature around the clock, the Connect offers several scheduling options:

• Constant: maintains one setting throughout the day
• Day and night: uses separate daytime and night-time settings
• Multi: allows up to eight different settings within 24 hours
• Seasons: provides different day and night settings across the year
• Periodic: activates the auxiliary channel for selected durations during set hours

The adjustable ramp-time feature can make changes between set points more gradual. This helps prevent a vivarium from moving abruptly from its cooler night-time temperature to its warmer daytime setting, creating a smoother environmental transition.

Temperature alarms and safety monitoring

Customisable high-temperature, low-temperature and sensor-failure alarms help you respond quickly when enclosure conditions move outside the limits you have chosen. When an alarm is triggered, the thermostat sounds a warning and sends a push notification to your phone.

The Connect also includes an externally accessible, fast-acting fuse to help protect the thermostat from faults in connected equipment.

Web dashboard and temperature reports

In addition to the mobile app, the Connected web dashboard lets you monitor and control your thermostats through a compatible web browser. Up to 12 months of recorded temperature data can be exported as a CSV file for long-term record keeping and reporting.

This can be especially useful for professional keepers and organisations that need a documented record of enclosure conditions, including businesses working towards Animal Activities Licensing requirements.

What happens if the internet connection drops?

An internet connection is required for initial setup and for viewing or changing settings remotely. If the thermostat loses its internet connection after configuration, it will continue operating normally using its saved settings. Remote monitoring and setting changes will become available again when the connection is restored.

Does the thermostat stop working without Wi-Fi?

Which heat sources can it control?

The selectable dimming and pulse modes make the thermostat suitable for a range of compatible reptile heating equipment. Dimming control is commonly chosen for light-emitting heat lamps, while pulse control is commonly used with non-light-emitting heaters such as ceramic heat emitters. Always follow the heat-source manufacturer’s instructions and remain within the thermostat’s stated output limit.

Is a mobile phone included?

No. A compatible device running iOS or Android is required for setup and app control, but the phone or tablet is not included.
