Silent Brown Crickets
Silent Brown Crickets are one of the most popular livefood insects for reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and insectivorous invertebrates. Easy to keep, simple to gut-load and highly nutritious, they provide an excellent staple feeder for a wide range of species.
Compared to traditional crickets, Silent Brown Crickets are generally quieter, hardier and less prone to climbing smooth surfaces, making them a popular choice amongst reptile keepers.
Available in a range of sizes from tiny hatchlings through to large adults, they are suitable for everything from poison dart frogs and hatchling geckos to larger lizards and amphibians.

Our Mini Crickets are perfect for poison dart frogs, mourning geckos, hatchling geckos and other small insectivorous species.
At approximately 2-3mm, they provide a practical alternative to traditional micro crickets, offering improved robustness while remaining suitable for very small animals.
Each tub contains approximately 400 insects and is covered by our standard live arrival guarantee.

Micro crickets are extremely small and are unsuitable for the majority of reptile species. Due to their delicate nature they are excluded from our live arrival guarantee. For most applications we recommend choosing our Mini size instead.
Species Information
Silent Brown Crickets are supplied from specialist cricket breeding programmes. Larger sizes are usually supplied as Gryllus assimilis (Silent Brown Crickets), while some smaller sizes may occasionally be supplied as Acheta domesticus(House Brown Crickets) to ensure consistent year-round availability. At these younger life stages there is no meaningful difference in feeding suitability, nutritional value or performance.
Please note that "Silent" is a trade name rather than a literal description. All crickets can produce some level of sound, although larger Silent Brown Crickets are generally much quieter than traditional house crickets.
