Many pet owners wonder what is a vivarium and what size is perfect for their pet? We’re here to help with a range of wooden vivarium’s to choose from. Our reptile vivariums are perfectly suited for snakes, lizards, tortoises and other reptiles providing them with a safe, insulated space to live and grow.

Wooden Vivarium’s are the most widely used vivarium option for reptiles here in the UK as they provide a cost-effective, secure way to house a wide variety of reptile species. Unlike glass or screen enclosures, a wooden vivarium will hold heat well and make it far easier and more efficient to heat correctly in the average home which will likely experience a lot of temperature fluctuation over a 24 hour period.

Supplied flat packed, our wooden vivarium models are all easy to build, include sufficient ventilation for all the common inhabitants, allow for the easy installation of lighting and heating within the vivarium and are available in a wide range of colours and sizes to suit many different species.

Our most popular vivarium range online is manufactured by Vivexotic, there are 4 styles of vivarium in the range to choose from and 4 width options: small (55cm), medium (85cm), large (115cm) and Bearded Dragon (120cm).

Vivexotic Repti-Home Standard

This model is a compact, cost-effective wooden vivarium range suitable for smaller, ground-dwelling species that don't need room to climb. Each vivarium measures 37.5cm deep (15inches) and is 42cm tall (16.5inches) and is available as a small vivarium, medium vivarium or large vivarium. The Vivexotic Repti-Home Standard range is perfectly suited to being a standalone reptile vivarium but can also be stacked 4 high in reptile rooms or when you have multiple reptiles.

Vivexotic Repti-Home Maxi

With the same styling as the repti-home standard but 49cm deep (19inches) and is 56cm tall (22inches), the repti-home maxi is suitable for a wide range of species and is used widely here at Internet Reptile for our corn snakes, royal pythons and as a lizard vivarium.

Available as a medium vivarium, large vivarium or extra-large vivarium, the Vivexotic Repti-Home Maxi range is perfectly suited to being a standalone unit - you can even add an optional cabinet to all models - but can also be stacked three high where needed and sits at the exact same height as a stack of four repti-homes meaning you can easily have multiple size vivarium’s in a single room or setup.

Vivexotic Viva+ Terrestrial

Moving up a class, our Vivexotic Viva+ Vivarium range offers a premium in both form and function. Stylish aluminium rails look modern and fit into any home, but this unique styling feature also incorporates full-frontal ventilation meaning that the entire environment remains fresher and healthier as stagnant air quickly removes itself from the vivarium. This makes the model the perfect choice as a tortoise vivarium for species where vivarium ventilation is critical and also helps with thermoregulation as warm air is more quickly moved out of the vivarium. Available in small, medium or large Vivarium sizes.

Vivexotic Viva+ Arboreal

With all the same great features of the terrestrial wooden vivarium range, the arboreal option gives plenty more height at 90cm as well as a stunning display window which makes the vivexotic viva+ arboreal vivarium the perfect choice for all display vivarium’s.
